About

Melissa was born in New York City, the only child of two opera singers. She spent a significant amount of her childhood backstage, in audiences, and at the age of three, made her performing debut as Trouble in New York City Opera’s touring production of Madame Butterfly. Melissa reprised this role three years later with Opera Northeast.  She was cast as Dorothy in her school’s production of The Wizard of Oz when she was ten years old, and the day she was given the role, she decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actress.

At New York University, Melissa studied acting at Tisch School of the Arts through Playwrights Horizons Theatre School and Stonestreet Studios. She earned her B.F.A. in Theatre, and has since appeared in various productions in New York City and around the country.

Melissa is also a Director and Producer. She co-founded Cupcake Lady Productions and The Fools & Kings Project.
